I read both eastern and western media. It is such a joke how Americans and the rest of the West is being brainwashed.

Vote Obama ! or prepare to die.
I believe there was a degree of collaboration as some Ukranians viewed the Nazis as liberators from Stalin - however they were systematically butchered by the Wafen SS whom viewed them as Untermenschen - irrespective of their view of Stalin.

Of course - for all of our sakes the Nazis in turn where defeated by the Soviets who sacrificed millions to defeat Hitlers war machine.

You do have a good point over the media coverage of the Georgian conflict - even the BBCs coverage in the first couple of weeks was of the standard of the 'Sun'.

Nobody will gain in a new Cold War.

Did you expect them to sit with their arms folded as 2000 of their citizens perished on their borders ?

Was the US correct to take the World to the brink of Nuclear War over the 1960 Cuba missile crises ?

Has the US condemned this modern charge of the Light Brigade ?

Another one that listens to Russian propaganda... official figures are 63 killed, ascertained from independent observers who are still waiting for evidence of the other 1937 deaths from Russian authorities. If 2,000 were killed then multiples more should have been injured and the evidence is simply not there.

I would hazard a guess that many more Georgians were killed by South Ossetian militia during the Russian occupation. There was film evidence that householders in Georgia were summarily shot as they went to their doors.

I think then we need to research and confirm exactly what the Death count was - shall we settle on the UN account of the matter which is being prepared ?

At least we agree upon the fact that Georgia started the conflict - anyway a good weekend to you all and lets pick up on this thread again next week !

Absolutely, and I believe it was an authority such as the UN that gave the official 63 figure. The real criminal thing is that Russia used a figure of 2,000 to justify its incursion into Georgia after South Ossetia had already been rocketing Georgia for a week or so before Georgia retaliated.

Russia should be forced to provide evidence of those deaths or announce a climbdown and admit its dishonesty.
