the British don't understand America and American politics, espeically if they're educated by hollywood and BBC/guardian
Palin will be a huge hit for the Republicans, a solid social and fiscal conservative
Absolutely. Stop-Over States.
Personally, I've gone off Obama anyway. Too smooth, too much "wonderful rhetoric".
The VP will nail it for Mcain. I will be putting money on it.
Target demographic.
Think about it.
Most of the population can already be categorised as democrats or republicans.
Choice of VP will not make them change their minds.
There are 2 big groups however who defy easy categorization and these are the big ethnic groups, african-american and hispanic.
The 1st will vote Obama. The second group got George Bush in power and they will do the same for Mcain because he is a good old boy and has a hot VP.
The hot VP factor will also sway (some) undecided.
And I am really talking about men. I suspect (I don't have evidence of it) that in "heartland USA" most women vote the same as their husbands.
once again the dems do the talk about women and ethnic minorities but it is the republicans who actually put them in and on merit not for pc reasons
Wow - you really talk out of your arse, don't you? The democrats had a nomination choice between a white woman and a black man. The Republicans were all white men.
McCain has nominated Palin, for cynical political reasons - or are you suggesting that he was so impressed by his one meeting with her, that he decided she was just the right person to step into the breach and become the most powerful person on the planet, God forbid that a 72 yead old man with a history of cancer should cark it in office?
