Client in UAE offering a long term gig on site - told them to stuff it. Did I make a mistake? I really don't think so... not at $10k a month

Depends if it's daily, weekly or monthly."I hope Celtic realise that, if their team is good enough, they will win. If they're not good enough, they'll not win - and they can't look at anybody else, whether it is referees or any other influence." - Walter Smith

Serious reply now. Google checks it in at £5471 I'm guessing monthly. If it's long term (i.e. a tax year) then you won't have to pay Tax on that.Originally posted by scooterscot View PostClient in UAE offering a long term gig on site - told them to stuff it. Only your accountant can answer what you're paying currently.
If it's not a tax year, then someone who wanted to escape paying tax may just open a US dollar account and get their money paid into that. I've heard that's what they do in the city with their bonuses, allegedly.
Only you can decide if it was a bad choice or not. Having been to Dubai before (not working) I loved it. You have to way up the pros and cons of what you want to get out of it. If you're young with no ties then go for it. Married + kids different story.Last edited by Incognito; 29 August 2008, 12:05."I hope Celtic realise that, if their team is good enough, they will win. To answer the question. NO!
Don't accept anything less than double that. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.
