At least try and see arguments from accross the board in the context of history and geopolitical dynamics.

Dodgy , if you are not aware let me enlighten you. Russia did not invade Georgia. Russia did not enter their territory just like that. They are not mindless people. They did not send the first people in space because they are morons.

There is province or part of South Ossetia , forgot the name. Russia entered Georgian territory after georgia has launched an attack that killed 2000 people and ruined the city. This territory was mainly Russians who see themselves as Russians and not Georgians.

Nowhere in the mainstream media this is being talked about.

Ordinary people like you hear the biased news and form an opinion. You are just responding as a human. You ( yourself ) are not to blame for your opinion because it is formed by biased media and false provocations which fail to show the whole picture.

In Russia there is 100 % support for the Russian actions because they are legit protection of the rights of their citizens.

After what the Bush adminsitration named Invasion ( Which again was a response to a killing of 2000 ) the rating of the hitler-like-portrated-in-mdonna-last-gig leveled Obama who is calling for diplomacy and cease of all war operations.

The agenda of mccain does not rely on anything beyond continuing rule-and-control-policy of the States.

The agenda , which I have been following closely due to certain dose of available time at the moment, relies , secondly on accusing Obama that he is not experienced in foreign policy and that Mccain is the one to protect the Us from bad boys like Russia. You see , they cant win otherwise hence they are pushing it at the moment.

So are we supposed to re-arrange these words into coherent sentences in order to get your point?

Give the guy a break - English is not his first language probably, but he can write it a lot better than you can write his.

I agree that the hot headed Georgian president inititiated the hostilities.
Plus as the West insisted on majority self-determination in Kosovo they can hardly complain about it here.
          Hard Brexit now!

Not disagreeing, per se. But slightly hypocritical of Russia to change it's tune vis-a-vis Gerogia, when it was so vehement against Kosovo. And where does that leave Chechyna etc?

If he'd have said the English isn't his first language, he'd have got some slack. But he didn't. And a lot of the dross is simply due to carelessness. I'm sure he knows how to spell Georgia. He types and clicks post. All it takes is a little time to review what you've typed.

Your "knowledge" of the facts, history and dynamics of Georgia, South Ossetia seem to be way ahead of Eduard Shevardnadze, former Soviet foreign minister and president of Georgia prior to being overthrown by Saakashvili.

                Who says that

both sides made mistakes in the lead up to the war between Georgia and Russia.

In an interview with the German news magazine Der Spiegel, Shevardnadze says: "Many people blame the Georgian President. They are wrong in part, but there is also an element of truth to it. He can't be accused of having acted illegally. It was legal to move our forces into (the South Ossetian capital) Tskhinvali. But it would have been better not to."

It is said that South Ossetians/ Russian "peacekeepers" were shooting at Georgians from South Ossetia and that the invasion was in response to that.

It is also argued that the "shootings" were deliberatly designed to provoke such a response as Georgia was in negotiations with Nato.

Elsewhere it is argued that South Ossetia has virtually run itself for the last 15years, and even elsewhere it is argued that Russia/North Ossetians do not want the poorer South Ossetians within their own borders. How you fathom out from all this that the invasion "was Georgia's fault" is not only beyond me but also beyond Georgianpoliticians, Russian journalists and everyone else.

Ever thought of writing a one line History book and calling it

                "Everything is Americas fault"?

I love the argument that Dodgy's incorrect viewpoint is based on the biased western media. I think we should all read Pravda and adjust our bias accordingly...

To be honest I dont really know.

was it the most practical solution?
was it the solution made according to International law
was it to annoy the Russians/punish the serbs?

                      I havent got a clue.
