Congestion on major roads has eased as the credit crunch combines with soaring fuel prices.

Figures released yesterday showed there was 12 per cent less traffic on motorways and trunk routes in the first six months of this year compared with January to June in 2007.

Data indicated there was a 26 per cent reduction in traffic jams between junctions 21 and 31 of London's orbital road during the period of June 2007-2008, compared with June 2006-2007.

The two places that have kept me in steady work in recent times have both sacked a chunk of people in the past 2 weeks, my contract is up in 2 weeks so it looks like I've mistimed it this time

The plans are going in next week. It was always my Plan B for doomed times but it would of been nice to be in a stable(ish) long contract as the tulip hit the fan.

Be careful, friends of ours are adding an extension and have lost their builder (gone bust). Plasterer came round and defaced the walls (hadn't been paid)
They've lost loads now. They had a PM at first but he ripped them off big style. IMO, we are now at a time when ANY house improvement will lose you money. Its cheaper to move to a better house all done up.
