I'm rather glad I turned down the Frankfurt gig offered last week as I have all the foreign language abilities of a dead dog.
You missed out there. Frankfurt is a great place and there are so many English speakers that language is no problem whatsoever. I fully recommend the Anglo-Irish pub in Alt Sachsenhausen.

That's your choice, but based on the many people that I have met you are in a very small minority.

It's just a fairly standard compound noun, we have them in English except that we don't leave out the spaces.Originally posted by TykeMerc View PostOk after "Solidaritätszuschlagsteuer".
In English format this would be: Solidaritäts zuschlag steuer - Solidarity Supplement Tax.

I understand the general concept but haven't the foggiest what the actual words are. Unfortunately unlike several of my close relatives (including an Aunt who teaches 7 modern languages) I possess zero foreign language skills. It is a source of shame for me that I'm lost when it comes to German.Originally posted by tim123 View PostIt's just a fairly standard compound noun, we have them in English except that we don't leave out the spaces.
