    Farking EON

    Bunch of muppets.

I think they fail to believe that anyone in this world can be energy efficent.

This is just me. I live on my own, everything in this place is energy saving. No computer left on (only use a laptop). To light every room in this flat takes about 30w of light. I'm a realy anal guy and if I'm making a cuppa I'll put one cup of water in the kettle etc. Turn off all the lights mot in use etc. So I don't waste energy.

Got an e-mail to say that I needed to give a reading. Did so, entered them online. Got my bill for the first quarter. £280. Feck me I thought. The estimated readings were immensly high. I think they might think I am running a cannabis farm. Now they estimated I'd use 2000kw/h in the 3 months. I used less than 600.

I phoned them to ask why they hadnn't used the meter readins I gave and the repsponse was that they were too low so the system had rejected them.

    What a crock.

I would just take them to the ombudsman now. after sending plenty of flame to the CEO.

Spock: "Trained? Judging from you, I would have guessed it was trial and error."

I know someone who was working abroad last year so his utility bills suddenly dropped. The company, I don’t know who, refused to accept the consumer reading and insisted that they inspect the meter. They were told no because he was abroad, but then they decided to apply for a court order to remove the meter and install a pre-paid one because they suspected tampering. No amount of explanation would suffice. In the end he had to delay a flight back to work for one day so that sum numpty could spend 30 seconds reading the meter. He just got a bill showing him in credit; no word of apology or anything. The obvious thing to do would be change suppliers, but they are probably all the same on that sort of issue.

I suppose the lesson to be learned if you are working away or any other reason why there may be a change in the consumption is to tell them first and get them to do the reading and inspection at the start.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

                Eh!

I use about 2000 units per year and have done so for as long as I can remember. And that's without trying.

to suggest that 600 pq is too low is utterly ridiculous.

Yeah but this is a elec only place. So used for heating water/cooking also so maybe thats why they thought it was low.

I am also with Eon, am equally frugal as yourself in a 4 bed detached and my last quarter gas plus electric bill was 66 quid. I'd better not try saving any more then !!
