Anyone here considered using a Taxi for all commuting instead of running a premium day to day car? Relax in the back, no depreciation, running costs, insurance and you can have a few beers after work if you feel like it?

The prices on the S don't seem to have been too badly battered (like some other makes) from what I can see. Think it's because it falls below the new car tax scam level (just)
I've had a couple of bites but need to advertise it properly though.The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”Comment

I read somewhere recently that if you buy an average largish £30k car. It will cost you £1.35 per mile to run. Seeing that most companies haven't increased the mileage allowance from 35p per mile, your joke about getting a taxi could work out a lot cheaper that running your own car!!Comment

It can get truly horrifying I think. For the orignal owner of my car:-Originally posted by JoJoGabor View PostI read somewhere recently that if you buy an average largish £30k car. Puchase price 63095, Sale price 12000 = 51095
Mileage 48000 @ 20 = 12000, Servicing, insurance road tax, tyres = 4000
Total 65000 = 1.36 per mile.
For subsequent owner (me) it aint much better either:
Purchase price 13000, Current value 3000
Mileage 25000 @ 20 = 6250. Insurance etc = 2000
Total = 18250 = 73p
I guess if I keep it for another 100k miles it's get more cost effective.Comment

Mind you when I then asked him what he might think about my 2000 740 with 60k he did only want to go to 3k.
Guess 'll be keeping it for a while
