I like watching "A place in the sun, home or away".

"Today our young couple have a budget of approx £400K. They can either buy a 2-bed terraced and be knifed to death in the SE of England, or they could choose this 15-bedroomed Chateau, set in 35 acres of grounds, complete with it's own boating lake, woodlands and working vineyard in France."

Plan B is to keep and rent and flog in either 2, 5 or 10 years, depending how the market goes.

Considering price crashing down to £190K for a week and hoping.

What is likely to be best? Ie, are prices likely to continue to plummet over the coming years, in which case get shot now, or, just hope I can get a tenant who can cope with Italian Mafia neighours??

From what I've been reading about you neighbours I'm not surprised you cannot sell it !! Renting is your best option as the market will start to pick up around the end of 2009.

Its game over I'm afraid. Reckon we won't see another real rise in house prices for 35 years.

Imagine you've just lost you grip on the edge of a cliff and you're hurtling to the ground. Before you hit the ground, you're saying to yourself "Well I'm still not dead, can I do something to save myself?

              Thats you that is.

Well I'm still not a contractor, should I still be posting about my petty issues on their glorious forum?
