Furthermore, modern Coelecanths (of which there are two separate species) are not identical to the various species from the fossil record - in the same way that, for example, there are fossil horses which are clearly of the same genera as modern horses, but also have clear dissimilarities.

He could lift it, but his elbow would probably snap in on itself.

              Shrewmouse?

              That's my wife's 'pet' name.

You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

It is perfectly possible to become so highly adapted that evolutionary mutations are no longer necessary - as in the case of sharks etc.
A basic misunderstanding of the way evolution works. Species do not change to take advantage of an environment, they do not change to fill a niche that is unoccupied. They do not change for any reason. Evolution does not happen when 'some advantage in the prevailing environment' is offered.

Evolution happens because species throw up wild variations, exaggerated traits or mutations. If these new creatures are successful they will breed more like themselves, if they are more successful than the precursors, they may well survive an event when the precursors do not. This is what we see in the fossil record when species die out and are replaced by others.
The reason why sharks and crocs are still around is that they are so blooming well fitted, its almost impossible for a variation, exaggeration or mutation to be better fitted.

The warnings come as a growing army of Cannock people take to the Chase, often dressed in monkey suits. They have been tempted by The Post’s offer of a free meal for anyone who capture on film the elusive Chase Bigfoot, rumoured to frequent the most secluded areas of our beauty spot.
Nah, that's just AtW out on the pull (Squirrels of course). They're more accomodating if you make the effort and dress up nice.
