Hey Guys,

Does anyone know if the professional printers would accept a MS Word template to professionally print a letter head on some nice paper? Or do they requrie something with a bit oomph like a *.ps file??

I'm guessing they do need something like a *.ps , because logic says something so simple could ever be actually that simple... So does anyone know any fairly to use packages that would produce a file that the printers could print from?

Printers often get Word formatted stuff to work from they do the necessary conversion in house usually.

With the cheapness of desktop printing I'm not sure I understand why you'd bother getting MyCo stationary these days apart from business cards though.

I am sure they will, and I am fairly certain the ones I used did.

They will reformat and send you proofs to approve before they go ahead and print (or at least they should do, if they are any way decent ).

I've only used a few, but there seems to be very little industry standardisation in printing. Go to printer A and he'll say he only accepts a certain file type. Go to printer B and he'll say he's never heard of it. Some are bound to accept Word- you just need to ask around. Others will look at your Word template and use it to design something similar but better.

If you're a Londoner, I recommend Printfast on Rathbone Place, W1.

Most will accept MS word. I've used a few different printers and they have all accepted it, including two sign/sticker manufacturers.
