surely this is more about being able to spot the difference between a gun and a mobile phone/wallet/can of beer.

the colour of the skin was surely not what you were looking at when trying to hit the correct key

in addition to this it could quite easily be 'rigged' in that if the pictures of the black people have the gun larger or more prominent than the picture of the white guys.

it tries to make a point but there are too many other factors to consider it as nothing more than a bit of a gimmick

having said that I bet I shot the ginger guys quickest of all
