Rubbish!! How many kids do you think will be delighted to get the time off? Quite a few. You see... there will be an increase of backchat especially from the usual suspects.Originally posted by Moscow Mule View PostFuturewife's school has just brought in a new policy:
Any backchat/rudeness to a teacher results in an instant exclusion for the rest of the day and the next day.
I think this should be adopted in every school.
Punishments like exclusion and detention DO NOT WORK !
P.S. And where do these kids end up? On the street. Causing trouble.Comment

Just tell their parents, if they are not liberal lefties they'll give them an old-fashioned bitch slap. That'll sort 'em.Originally posted by Platypus View PostRubbish!! Well, I agree that there will be some "hardcore" who use the opportunity to get some time off. But the disruption it will cause to their parents should be worth it.Originally posted by Platypus View PostRubbish!! How many kids do you think will be delighted to get the time off? Quite a few. I think you'll find the parents of 'career troublemakers' won't give a stuff about it. After all, "it's the schools problem, not theirs".Originally posted by Moscow Mule View PostWell, I agree that there will be some "hardcore" who use the opportunity to get some time off. Reform of the tax system.
Set the single persons allowance at a level that allows somebody working 40 hours a week on minimum wage to not pay any tax.
Abolish NI and tax credits
Adjust basic rate of tax to 25%.
Adjust higher rate threshold to make it apply to anybody earning 200% of average wage.
Adjust higher rate of tax to make all of the above revenue-neutral."See, you think I give a tulip. Wrong. In fact, while you talk, I'm thinking; How can I give less of a tulip? That's why I look interested."Comment
