Well, it helps with shading - basically, the angle determines degree and direction of spread, and the shape of the brush in Photoshop - the opacity of the 'paint' diminishes away from the nib. Essential bit of kit for an arty type IMO! Not geeky at all!

I also use one of these for my Palm - battery life not great, but the 'wow' factor is!
