It was great to see you all again/meet you for the first time. From the sounds of it I probably escaped to the tender mercies of my Covent Garden barmaids at the right time - I don't think I would have survived the sambuca

    Here's to the next one
Sambuca Slammers! Flames and burning coffee beans everywhere!

Glad I missed that bit, I like my liver as it is... But fair play to you!

We've just got back from London, hence posting 2 days after the event.

Though to be honest, it's taken that long to recover :-)

Those sambucas at the end really did it in for me...I was pacing the beer quite nicely until 3 shots of that deadly stuff. I cannot recall the journey back to the Covent Garden hotel (and I forgot to rehydrate before bed).

Saturday morning was difficult, but after forcing down a fried breakfast, things perked up.

Well, what can I say ?

It was indeed a great night out and a real pleasure to meet you all, and both Mrs BGG and I were only saddened that we didn't get to chat longer with you all. What a truly interesting bunch !

I recall CM having some difficulty walking, and I swear when I looked at your feet, you were wearing white clogs...or was that a hallucination ?

Churchy...my you are a big lad. No further comment needed.

And special thanks to EO, NF, Alantan, Warrior Princess (a flying visit but much appreciated), Owlhoot, Bumfluff and Gonzo for taking the trouble to come down and say hello.

Finally, a very special thanks to RealityHack for his efforts in getting us all together and making the night one to remember.

Roll on the next shindig !

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

"Who's that stuffing her face at the buffet?"

"Dunno, I thought she was from your family?"

"That's her eighth glass of champagne as well..."
