Some people view their wife and children as possessions.
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

      Are they not?

Why would you feel responsibility for and towards them if they weren't?

Oh sorry, I forgot to read the name of the original poster.

It's reassuring that you don't agree with me on anything, it's the highest possible vindication of my position.

I'll ignore the childish insult but point you in the following direction...

            Please explain the following...

            They are your children.

            She is your wife.

            You are her husband.

They're not chattel, you don't own them, nor can you buy and sell them. They might be yours, but so is your country, so is your job and so is your footy team ...

It's the good dads like you Bear who have to make up for all the crappy crazy ones!
In response to Brillo's post about dad's that top their kids. Maybe unintentional, but it's implied as it's the only thing he's talking about (That and crying when he read it).

Oh FFS, that is not it, and I think anyone with a brain would understand that.

Of course the semantics of English implies 'belonging to' however in this day and age it doesn't imply ownership in the way one would own say a car.
There are no doubt some people who consider a wife in children in the same way though, the kind of controlling and emotionally insecure people who might think they have a right to damage their 'possessions'.

                      All IMHO Sir

PS I'll have you know only 50% of what I post is BS
