Been running OpenOffice at home for some time now... try to minimise my exposure to MS bloatware as much as possible....
Eeyore was very glad to be able to stop thinking for a little, in order to say "How do you do" in a gloomy manner to Pooh.
"And how are you?" said Winnie-the-Pooh.
Eeyore shook his head from side to side. "Not very how," he said. "I don't seem to felt at all how for a long time."

Installed Outlook 2007 on my asus eee pc after receiving the action pack. The tool bar takes over 50% of the entire (admittedly low res) screen. Not so good!

[QUOTE=Spacecadet;559004]menus are much better arranged once you get used to them
          /QUOTE]

I've spent over 10 feckin years getting used to them. I've now 'got' used to the new ones - I'm still failing to see the advantage and it really pissed me off for a couple of months that the simplest thing would take me 10 minutes to find.

Anyone explain to me what the point was of re-arranging them all?

Yup, it kills off a few dinosaurs who are resistant to change.

Also it adds a few quid to the share price.

I've been getting quite handy with LaTex (and before anyone quips, I mean the text formatting variety based on TeX ) It's infintely better than Word, and not proprietary, but has a steep learning curve.

I wish there was an ultra-dumb setting on Word for Windows where it wouldn't try and "help" in any way whatever, including not substiting opening and closing quotes or any other character sequences (dots, "1st", "2nd", arrows etc), and being consistent with bullet and tab indentations, and a proper snoopy mode where all embedded formatting was visible.

Ever thought about a career in teaching?

                    Those who can.. etc...

Personally, I found the power of reading to be very beneficial in navigating the new menus, Microsoft have been very clever in using words within the menu system.
