Then I too could become narrow minded
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Sorry, I should have said as narrow minded as your good self.
Where everyone has a worse education, knows less about politics, is less enlightned, less right wing, less well travelled.

            I could go on

I think you should go on.

If that is what you think of me I'm surprise you have anything to do with me.

I'll just sit at home and watch the telly so I can quote it endlessly.

Is that any different to quoting ideas/opinions from other people's heads?

I'm sorry that I and probably the rest of this board are inferior to you Lucy. One day we may reach the zenith of your insight.

It seems to me that the UK has paid for a ticket but is denied access to the train. In fact we have a first class ticket but still cant get on. The train is full of chavs.

I dont want to join in with the pissing. I either want a full EU where all citizens and nations work for one Europe or no EU. We have the worst of all worlds here. We have a few countries wanting to make one Europe. We have others whos only reason for being in the EU is to milk it for what they can get out. As with all politicos some of them just want to further their careers.

If the EU wants to be a political power then it should behave as one. Members should be directly answerable to the voters via the ballot box.
The EU need to follow their own procedures. The UK implements EU directives. All the other countries pick and choose which they will implement based on how much it will cost or make them, yet they consistantly point at the UK as holding the EU back because we say no to proposals so often.
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

There's no point in trying to figure out the rights and wrong with the EU, it's just too long boring and nasty to look at in any detail by sane people. Margaret Thatcher should be made to tell us her opinion and give her recommendations before she croaks it and her knowledge and wisdom is lost forever. Then we should just go with that. We could also try to meld her mind with a computer, just in case we need any more answers later on.

We either become like the USA or this project fails. I say kick out the states which don't want to progress in that direction. What we have now is a make-work project for fat cats which want to look important. It isn't and will never work.

The UK's problem is that, IMHO, it is half in and half out. it wants a strong viable europe. yet it opts out of so many things as to think "why bother". Its like a Yes Minister episode..where it was explained that in order to bugger the project up, it was best to join and bugger it up from within..while pretending to want it to work.

So in that sense, the UK should get out.
