The most highbrow BB gets is who didn't clean the toilet, who fancies who (usually they fancy themself), he said she said etc. It's highly false and self aware. It's entertainment for people who miss the politics of the playground.
This is not the thread for highbrow TV, Bagpuss. BB is not highbrow, but that does not mean that intelligent people can't enjoy it.

Feel free to make a thread about the highbrow TV that you watch each evening. I'll pop in and post some comments when you do.

On topic: I quite like the look of Lisa. Tall, dark hair, statue-esque and with huge, comedy melons that Mario sold his Rolex to pay for.

            You couldn't make it up.

I flicked over a few times while 'house' was on and this season looks to be aiming to explore new depths of tastelessness. The contestants appear to have been selected on freakishness in looks or behaviour. A weird gay guy and an albino? This isn't normal entertainment for most people anymore surely? Are any of them remotely normal? It has seemed like this is the past at the beginning of a season though and has improved as time goes on (the biggest freaks getting booted out earliest), but from my few minutes of watching I can't see me watching this one yet. No offence, but it seems to be aimed at gays? I'm only basing this on a few minutes of watching though.

I'm a celebrity get me out of here! - now there is real entertainment

I hope I'm not getting old and pompous like the others on here

Eh?! Have you seen some of the girls in there? I think one guy is gay - that is it.

I dunno. I'm magnetically drawn to it, but I think a lot of that has to do with me knowing someone who worked on the first couple of programmes, so kind of got sucked in.

But only noticed one gay guy (The blind crossdresser is open to debate). They do seem to have chucked in a few freaks, with the obligatory smatter of BB stereotypes (WOnder if the show is just well past it's sell by).

                    I wonder if he realises?

There was a crossdresser at a child's birthday party I went to once. At first I thought, what an ugly woman. He was in his 60s with hair up in a bun, a mid-riff knitted top and a mini-skirt. Needless to say it wasn't a pleasant sight.
