Maybe I can't do anything about it but that doesn't mean I should like it, there has been a massive change in English over a short period of time. It doesn't sound nice, it doesn't look nice, it does however identify morons to potential employers, which is something to be greatful for.
I'm not the worlds best at written English, having had a 1970s progressive education, but I feel embarrassed by my shortcomings not proud of them.
Would you want a child of yours growing up sounding like a cross between Ali G and Joey Deacon?

Someone who became a household name in the 80's after That's Life with Esther Rantzen ran a piece about him.By the way, who is Joey Deacon?
He entered the zeitgeist of the time as a synonym for someone who was mentally and physically impaired.
Thus, across the school playing grounds in the land, the term "spastic" or "spazz" was replaced with "joey".
A somewhat sad thing to be remembered for I guess.Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
