How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

When they had a problem with blades in the palace of Westminster they painted two lines on the floor which the members were not allowed to cross. Knife crime could be eliminated if nobody was allowed within 2 metres of another person.
I wish I could erase those lines - with a bit of luck the whole lot would end up dead.
I say carry metal 'table forks' around and use them together to form a new martial art.
Prong those Chav's to death ! and when you do say "Sorry officer I had two forks on me as I was habving a Picnic next weekend and forgot to remove them from my bag !".
Who has ever gone down for carrying an offensive / illegal ... 'fork' !
New Labour approach. Ban knives. All of them. Even in the kitchen. Have a national sharp-implement database and cutting edge (geddit) surveillance in every home.
Tory approach. Just make it legal to carry guns, knife crime will plummet.
New Labour approach: Create a tax on all knives which will unfairly burden the chav class. Upon backbench revolt, raise the income tax free allowance.
Tory approach: Wait to see what NL do, then arrange a press photo shoot of Cameron on his Raleigh Chopper.
