Will someone be able to explain the difference between an inner and an outer join to me?

The other day I was putting on my linen bottoms (sunny day, in the garden) when my inner join on the left leg went and I was mighty miffed.

        That kinda join?

Yes, I could ask them for advice on how to fix the inner join in your trousers.

Does that mean it would be normalised?

An inner join is joining the insides of tables, and outer join (or 'outer') is joining the outside bits.

At least that is how I understand it.

                Use both if in doubt.

I think you have misunderstood the topic DiscoStu. This is about databases not trousers.
