If they did that the whole benefits budget would be swallowed by investigations. I kid you not.
They only way an alarm like you describe is triggered is when the central register database field overflows. Normally, they just reset it to zero.
I suggest that this guy was caught because he was flaunting it.
Sheet, they're regularly catching OAPs claiming their long dead parents state pension. So you'd think they should have a check in the database
if age > number in guiness book of records
raise alarm
When they do checks by having a warm body stood at the Post Office checking people collecting pensions they actually save 5 times more than the cost of that persons wages for the month! And that is just by disuading people to collect, not actually catching anyone.
IIRC there are 4 times as many pensions paid out as real pensioners who claim the state pension...Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

So he gets away with nearly £80k but only gets 13 months. With early release he'll probaby be out in 5.Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.
