    Milan.
So with the Euro flying high, with the world economies suffering from the fall out of the USA recession, and with Germany being a huge exporter, and the with the Germans squirrelling their cash under the pillow who precisely is going to buy German goods? and also bear in mind that this recovery by Germany (if you can call it that) has only been for the last three months.
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone

Milan is a potato head who occasionally gets things right by luck.
            HTH

Seriously though, reading crappy articles in the press is no substitute for real facts and first hand experience.

I'm not sure we want to know about the experiences of your first hand.

That's a little unfair, Rover cars were getting good under the Japanese collaboration. If you look back in history we've made some good cars compared to what was around at the time e.g the Mini, the first car with a transverse mounted engine and fwd, this was a decade and a half before the first Golf. When Talbot was bought by Peugeot they rebadged a waiting Talbot production model as the 309 with few modifications, that car went on to sell well for years.

Then remember the great sports cars.. Jaguar, Lotus, TVR, MG, Morgan, Triumph,Jenson.

We can build good cars, when BMW were considering buying Rover, the first thing they commented on was how good the build quality of the cars were, in some cases better than their own. The lack of investment killed the UK motor industry, more and more they had to churn out old and tired designs dating back to when the Japanese were dumped.

We can build cars, we do build cars, unfortunately not for UK companies.
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

I would. Just because Clarkson and all the motoring press keep chanting BMW,BMW,BMW doesn't mean we all listen.

Er no - my mate's Marina had lever arm dampers - they were rubbish (they didn't get telescpic until the Ital), but not necessarily any worse than some of the tuilpe from abroad at the time.

Early Japanese cars were rusty death traps but sold because you got a free radio - big deal.
