LOL filming on the show has actually started!

This is a small section of video that I shot on May 2nd that shows the rope out stage of the Turrell tornado as it is overtaken by Rear flank Downdraft winds, thus occluding the inflow.

This was the third tornado that I filmed that day and was first spotted as a large cone tornado way off in the distance, at the time its path was directly towards me – hence the reason why I did not film using a tripod – fortunately as the tornado roped out it moved to the East, missing me!

The tornado was officially rated as EF3, was 400 yards wide and on the ground for 12 miles. (

You're only going at 65mph. Step on the gas man.

Seriously, good luck out there, have you considered you may enounter more hot air on cuk than in Mexico though, might save the cost of the flight at least

I am currenlty in Houston - ready to move East towards New Orleans but really aiming for Huoma which is a town South West of NO. Current forecasts for a soild CAT4 Hurricane at landfall which means sustained winds @140mph gusting to 180mph.

Mass panic is now breaking out along the gulf coast lines forming for Gas and food - I10 has been turned into a one way street!

Gustav could well eclipse Katrina in terms of the damage done to New orleans - it seems that the flood defences are only rated up to CAT3 and will most certianly fail - I hope not.

            more later..

They're saying it could make Cat 5 when it crosses the gulf.

Good luck wxman - and be careful out there

You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

Latest news on Gustav is that it has dropped back to a cat three after hitting Cuba but is expected to strengthen again as it crosses the gulf. Still on target to hit NO with landfall around 0200 GMT Tuesday.

Good luck and be careful down there. Tornado's are easier to dodge than a 20 mile wide hurricane!

looks terrifying - the sheer panic has led to everyone driving on the wrong side of the road
