It is bad when they're driving on the pavement.
Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it

The danger is when they are using a hand to hold the phone. Which is why hands free is acceptable.

It's purely a revenue raising hidden additional tax.
Hand held phones require keeping a hand off the wheel or wedged between head and shoulder - neither are safe.

Amazing how many people think speed cameras are dangerous as you take your eye of the road - but will happily chat, eat, daydream while driving.

            With a phone perhaps?
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

I do about 20k miles a year (in an average year), the worst driving is usually to be seem by people on the phone, swerving across lanes, hitting the brakes at the last minute, turning without indicating. When holding the phone, there is always some messing that involves taking the mind off driving.
You'd expect to see more chavs up to this but surprisingly it doesn't tend to be.

Probably better that it's a warning in the first instance though
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

That car was so flat to the front of his truck he couldn't see it out of the windscreen.

I wonder if the last thing that went through her mind was "what an arse".

                    where's the option for:
"I see so many of the winkers that if i did something about all of them then there wouldn't be enough time left in the day to sleep"

There is still a huge number of drivers openly flouting this law.
Whens there's been one on the phone behind me at traffic lights I've been very tempted to not move once the lights change back to green
                    Coffee's for closers

Incredible marketing how it seems to have achieved a similar notoriety as drink driving.

People just love having something to moan about.

Same thing with speed cameras. If everyone's so upset why don't we all just take off our number plates. They can't arrest us all!
