Ok, so is your argument that I should not reference statements from the Internet in an Internet forum (maybe I should use quotations from medical literature?), or that I should not say I drink alcohol when taking antibiotics?

And you left out the last sentence or two so it was edited.

I hate to let you down like this CFK, but PhD does not a GP make.

You guys were a bit too fast on this one, I edited my post about 10 seconds after I added it to include this.

Just had a chat with my mam about this (she is a nurse!). she said usually its good advise to stay way from alcohol as the antibiotics don't work as well, for whatever reason, with alcohol in your system. She reckons these ones the dentist gave me are harsh in that they do react and make you puke..

Yeah, thanks for that. It does give you the title Doctor which someone parodially referred to me as, hence my equally sarcastic response.

Yeah, I have heard that before, that makes sense, kind of a trade off I suppose.

Really? Dr? I find this hard to believe.

Your post was imbecilic because you don't understand the nature of medical evidence. It was equivalent to saying "I know a heavy smoker who's a hundred so smoking must be safe". I would abandon plans for the PhD if I was you. Mind you they probably award them nowadays just for turning up

I don't care what you believe. No offence.

                      Why are you arguing?

The only antibiotic you definitely can't take while drinking alcohol is metronidazole as it causes vomiting, headaches, stomache cramps and nausea.
