Banning racksacks is not a solution, what I am talking about is that non-white people with racksacks now should expect to get a look or two, it is up to the individual to decide whether they might be better off not carrying racksack for sometime just in case.

OK what if you are a non white computer contractor (I know this will never be the case for you AtW)traveling from one site to another and have to take you laptop with you ??and your laptop is a rucksack?? mine is and I intend to carry my laptop when travelling for work.

what if you are a student and need to carry books and notes to the class?? what do you do??

What if you happen to be a tourist and the only bag you brought with you is a rucksack?? I travelled many times with only a rucksack with me so do most people...

Do you think everyone shold rush and buy a different kind of bag??

Put them in a plastique transparent bag, or avoid carrying so many books to lecture, or take car, or try to learn how to find alternative solutions.

If you fit the profile of criminals then if you are innocent it makes sense take a few steps to make sure that possibility of being confused with criminals from your social or national group is minimised.

I think it is sensible to avoid carrying racksacks in the tube or buses for some time. Personally I do have racksack for travel home (due next week), but this time I won't use it even though in this sort of cases I think its acceptable because airport security is much better than anywhere else and sack or not it will be Xrayed.

All that tells me is people are stupid as the politicans and think there easy solutions to everything

Take a look at Richard Reid (shoe bomber) half cast jamacian/white but looking mainly white. So white looking and no rucksack. No one would look at him twice, till it is to late.

I would advise any asian or black not to carry a rucksack at the moment though, not for the peice of mind of people on the transport system, but because of trigger happy police.

This is not true representation of my views: carrying racksack is not shootable, but running away from armed police with a racksack is likely to result in quick death via shots in the head.

Using racksack now is an invite for possible police checks, and certainly for unease of fellow passangers.

So a man/woman/child carrying a rucksack, and running to catch a train deserves to be shot huh!! and you'd be sooo happy to knock at their relatives door and inform them how stupid that man/woman/child was, and they surely deserved to be shot for their stupidity.....
