I’ve had two people at different clients that have tried to get me to sort out something ‘before close’ or ‘immediately after close’ of the NYSE/CME on a Friday night. One has got the sack ages ago; the other now behaves himself, but I think he is on the way out too. Both are different forms of non-drinking Asian types.
Yanks can’t handle the pace of drinking but they appreciate an Englishman still being at his desk in London until 9pm on a Friday night. Thankfully, it won’t be for much longer and I’ll be back in the same time zone again. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.
