I grew up in Knutsford anyone else from this area ? Knutsford highlights were The Redcow pub and the Knutsford fair and the posh car garage on the round about. Wilmslow must know the place as Wilmslow the place is just up the road from Knutsford

Having worked there I can agree with the sentiment implied.
Some people are like slinkys, totally pointless but the thought of pushing them down a flight of stairs never fails to put a smile on your face.

I have friends who are teachers and:
1.One of them got "restructured" 2 years ago with about 5 other teachers at her school. She was happy because she had just had a sprog and has a rich husband.
        2. Also a friend who is soon to be a headteacher has been involved in suggesting teachers leave the schools that she has worked in due to unsatisfactory performance.

Also I remember when teachers in my secondary school where restructured:
        1. The language teachers retired or found something else to do.
        2. The music department was downsized. It was the teacher's own fault she prevented lots of pupils playing instruments and did herself out of a job. There isn't a great need for music teachers in state secondary schools.
        3. An RE teacher was told to leave.
I'd add another criteria to teaching being a safe job - if you are teaching somewhere where others don't want to teach or can't afford to live.

MrsF used to teach in Slough, and there were some staff there who were hopeless, but the school couldn't get anyone else so they had to keep the rubbish teachers there.

Not quite as obscene as the security architect contract, in the city, posted last week for £250/day.

These are probably fake ads designed by the agencies to try to lower the perceived average rates so they can cream more off themselves.

I suppose if they are genuine, they might catch a few newbies who don't know any better.
