Used to play the guitar before contracting took over my life, It does amaze me how many failed musicians there are in IT (or DJ's for that matter)
Some people are like slinkys, totally pointless but the thought of pushing them down a flight of stairs never fails to put a smile on your face.

I can see a strong correlation between music and programming/logic, there's more structure and maths in music than people might realise - so I guess it's not such a hard leap - I know quite a few IT types who have strong music skills too.

How much time does the TA take away from you a year then?

I don't have a horse anymore, when we lived in London I rode in Hyde Park. Haven't done it since we moved...

An evening a week and a weekend a month, plus 2 weeks a year.

It could end up taking away 9 months (abeit in somewhere warm) if I am unlucky.

I was reading a mathematical analysis of a standard break, and rebuild, in music and how in pieces that would be considered 'hits' the relationship was phi.
