At first I thought you meant that literally, referring to the investors who lost tens of thousands in ostrich farms at around the same time.

They could have saved a lot of money and aggro by first simply asking themselves when was the last time they had seen an ostrich steak for sale in a supermarket!

One of those things that wonders me: are ostriches etc. birds that have forgotten how to fly, or are other birds, flying ostriches, or quite different, although related, beasties with convergent evolution.
Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

Yes. Ostriches are birds that got too big to fly. Not vice-versa.

Anything else I can help you with today Mister Threaded?

You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

I would guess the dozy bint was wearing a pair of "peril sensitive sunglasses" while exchanging contracts, which, as I understand it, help you develop a more relaxed attitude to danger.

The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Buying a converted mill in Bradford what the hell would you expect?

I still say London if you can afford; highly rentable places like Fulham will go down very well as long as you can ride the waves.

In fact H&F average asking price moved up around 3.5% in Feb.

                      There is a clue there.

I went to an auction. The property I was looking at was marketed as "previously on sale for £189,950".

It didn't even make £160,000 at auction. I offered £155,000 before the auction.

The point is I could market it for £2mln. Doesn't mean jack until it comes to sale time though.
