Presumably because they've never been to London and have no conception of how impractical that is on a transport network that 3 million people use every daty.

Last Thursday, the governments secret plan to get ID cards accepted by the great unwashed.

It seems to have done a fairly good job doesn't it.....

Unfortunate in that every one of them would have had legitimate ID cards isnt it.

Yes but that little fact doesn't seem to have registered with the media or the great unwashed who are happily talking about ID cards as if they are the third coming....

Neither does the fact that within a couple of weeks of their introduction you'll be able to get one at your local car boot sale for £40 anyway.
