Well its been a long time (I went to St. Georges School in Cascais) but from what I recall it was very nice, especially when you ventured inland.
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Small world. I used to live near there (Av. de Sintra) in the late 70s. In fact I knew the son of the St George's school's caretakers, Alfredo.

Lucy, while in Lisbon, hold on your handbag/purse. They can spot the careless a mile away. You have been warned!

Small world indeed! I lived right next door to the place from Jan 2005-Jan2006. Rua de Santana it's on.

I went there in the early 70's. Quite a posh school, possibly. Quite a few minor royalty personages were there at the same time along with some Portugese government ministers kids. Where we lived, Supertramp lived next door and were often visitors to our house and Mungo Jerry lived down the road and used to pop in occasionally.

Last time I went to Lisbon it was a building site - sucking up billions from the EU purse for 'redevelopment' work.

If you like cities then Lisbon (when not a building site) is a good one.

Good golf and beach holidays a small distance out west in Estoril and Cascais.

Public transport good. No need to hire a car really.

You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.
