go back to lurking d11ck witOriginally posted by Turion View PostShe was caught and justice was done. You should be happy. A caution for a minor first offence is the norm. Like the other poster says, how else to deal with such a minor offence. Jail for the woman and care home for the baby? How much cost and trouble is that? Maybe different if you had to pay for the HM lodgings and look after the baby yourself!

Credit card fraud and theft of around £500, a minor offence?
Next time I'm a bit short maybe you wouldn't mind pointing me to where you leave your wallet?
As for paying lodgings for her and the baby, I'm doing that already and so are you. She's one of our recent new arrivals and on every benefit going.

Girl I know recently had her car broken into at the local baths, she's a nurse and they nicked some CDs and blood pressure equipment. CCTV not working. Scrotes did over 20 or so cars in the carpark, but when the cops were called they didn't want to know.Originally posted by gadgetman View PostCredit card fraud and theft of around £500, a minor offence?

Only reason to call a copper these days for anything but a physical attack is just to get a police report for insurance purposes.
You were lucky not to get done for wasting police time reporting the incident

£500.....hardly Brinksmat proportions is it. Less than a days pay for many of us. Cost of the justice far exceeds the crime. You will get the cash back from the bank so you're covered. Woman made a mistake and now has a record. If she tries it again, punishment will be more severe.Originally posted by gadgetman View PostCredit card fraud and theft of around £500, a minor offence?

I would say that the emotional damage done by petty theft is far worse than any that is done by a bullion robbery - with the exception of violence against the person.Originally posted by Turion View Post£500.....hardly Brinksmat proportions is it. They offer you councelling for that now. I lost my phone on a night out (light fingered bar staff I think) and was offered some as a "victim of crime".Originally posted by DodgyAgent View Post... emotional damage done by petty theft ....
