correct me if I am wrong,
these rules don't apply to cars older than 2001 which will stay at 200£ adjusted for inflation each year of course
this would suggest the people who will get hurt in the long run are the car manufacturers and the fleet on britains roads will become really old like in Sweden
never seen so many bangers as in sweden
This will be excellent for second hand values of older cars
maybe the whole plan is actually one of conseration to get people to run their cars for longer before s/c/r/a/p/p/i/n/g them

What beats me is how vehicles that cost 5X more than what a family saloon costs only pay 2X the tax? and £400 for a Mondeo seems quite steep.
My sympathies to my neighbour who has four kids and drives a minivan.
Looks like whatever he gets in Tax Credit will be taken back by the road tax.McCoy: "Medical men are trained in logic."
Spock: "Trained? Judging from you, I would have guessed it was trial and error."Comment
