if ur talking about fujisu siemens, its cos they are dealing with a bugger load of contractors and are just following some noobish procedure asking u to refill in the form, i would speak to the security vetting at your old place and get them to transfer the sc to ur knew place, fuji will slow you down so much before u can start

If it's Fujitsu, then you may as well just forget that you ever had clearance, and start all over again.

It will save time - otherwise, you will probably get 80% of the way through the migration process, they will forget to do something straightforward, and you'll be back to square one because it will have expired anyway.

Mate of mine took his clearance details to them last year, in person. Five weeks later, there was no progress, so he went and asked them again. Turned out that the person in the clearance office that he gave the form to, didn't know how to handle a clearance migration, so just put his forms in her in tray and did nothing with them.

By which time, the clearance had expired

Just get the security officer to extract a digit and get the process running.

I've heard of someone failing DV, the guy in question said it was because he had a German wife but I find that hard to believe, I'm not sure if they disclose the reason if you fail?

Generally people don't ask to have their past raked up if they have something to hide so you've got to be fairly confident before being put through it.

just asking as im about to go through applying,

I defaulted on a loan during a bank account move 4 years ago and the Direct debit wasnt moved over, that and my credit score wasnt the best in the world during student years but its all cleared up and paid off now, have never been bankrupt, have the usual (well not so unsual) few points on my licence but other than that nothing i can think of that may red flag things so am fairly confident but thought id check with the masses first.

I wouldn't worry, they only go into financials when it’s DV and even then as long as you can prove everything is above board and you don't carry too much personal debt there shouldn't be any problems, they're looking out for people who are hiding things.
