1. Santa Monica-LA. Beautiful empty beaches, 10 dollar taxi ride up to sunset strip for nightlife, lovely shops, bars and retaurants, beautiful ladies...
the beach was a dump and the sea had a bit of a whiff the last time I was there !?
You learn something every day, I didn't know they had one. I once went to Pontinentals in Majorca with my Mum and Dad, most enjoyable ! A bloke sat next to me on a contract a few years back went for his family holiday to Southport , he was a permie from Yorkshire though
Did you go to venice beach? about a 1 mile up the boulevard?
Probably where I'm thinking of but a mile won't make the sea clean, it was defo dodgy and I personally wouldn't put a toe in it. Stepping over the winos to get onto the beach also detracts from its holiday potential.

hmm interesting perspective, not what I have experienced in the 20+ times I have been to Venice....Although the wino thing is true, but they tend to clear off to the shade when the sun comes up.

Perhaps your perspective is skewed by the fact that when not on holiday you are stuck in an off-plan BTL in manchester city centre?
