I've been messed around - I feel. Another section of my current client is wanting to use my services.
So I spent about half a day putting together the contract then sent it on to them. they then turned around and said I had to go through an agency.
What's the problem you say??? I still currently have a direct contract with them, am a registered supplier on their procurement system...so can't figure out why they can't use the direct route..something to do with budgets and funny money.
So today I get the agency contract...what a load of tripe. I had to ask them to change nearly ever clause. My name was in the contract, it mentioned hours per week. that I was "working from home". I wasn't sure if it was IR35 safe...I don't deal with agencies very often (once in the last seven years) so most of the contracts I do are direct.
'Course this client rang me up, and are desperate for me to start. I'll just sweat them out to let me go direct.
Right thing to do?
