Thaksin Shinawatra is innocent, hence why he has voluntarily just returned to Thailand to face charges against him. Please do not compare him to Mugabe etc.

          Thanks for the input all.

They do need to be notable Britons with value educationally

I have noted the Cromwell point and lack of women. It is difficult because need to be reasonably notable to generate some interest and there just weren't the number of women to choose from.

Sis has already go the go-ahead in practice and it is in Staffordshire which does seem immune to the worst excesses of political correctness.

Not sure about Elgar - he was a bit of a c\/n7 by some accounts. & definitely Cromwell, for reasons already stated.

Unsure about "Moore" - which one do you mean - Roger, Alan, Patrick, the one with the processor law?

For Wellington under statesmen - he was a great general but possibly the worst ever British prime minister. But ultimately he redeemed himself in his 70s, when he reacted to the Spring Heeled Jack scare by grabbing his duelling pistols and riding out to catch the beggar once & for all.

Chaplin was a ****. Can't you think of anyone better? Lots of authors in there, too.

And no women in the arts section, unless it's Dorothy Wordsworth?
