I could pick any number of Japanese cars that fulfil that requirement but I quite like this one:

Anyone who believes German cars are higher quality than Japanese has been fooled by the marketing. And the japs are improving their design and interiors

I love my Mazda6 2L, never broken down in 70000 miles, gets me from A to B plenty quick, fits loads of stuff in the boot, room for kids etc.

Are you seriously saying the cloth seats, hard scratchy plastic interiors of Jap cars come anywhere close to a BMW or Merc?

Jap cars are super mega reliable, but stylish and luxurious they ain't.

From my experience... Which isn't that great ( i will willingly admit) I have had Fords a KA and a new Fiesta, a Mercedes 230 kompressor, a BMW 1 2.0ltr sport version and I now have a MINI S Convertible. The Fords were okay, cheap and cheerful. The mercedes lovely and the BMW lovely. BUT... I will say the MINI is my aboslute favourite. I love it, all the gadgets and gizmo's, it is fun. Never ever had any problems with it! Built like a tank and now I probably wouldn't have anything else! The Fords I felt completely unsafe in. The BMW and Mercedes were nice but they were mans cars! I have never had anything jap but then again I never will just because I don't particularly want one or like anything they ahve on offer.

Well there is my humble input (probably not worth 2 bob though!)

Biggest problem with a Lexus (at least the small ones) is that you have to be a dwarf to feel cofortable in one. And to fit in the back you'd better not have any legs. They are kind of a tardis in reverse. Big on the outside, tiny inside. Well made, but very impractical and full of gadgets.

The Jap interiors are nasty (tacky and gadgety) compared with the Germans.

DimPrawn - I know that but some people get offended and say no it isn't or there are people on the other side who say ti isn't a MINI at all! Who would have thought such debate surrounds such a small car!
