People are different.

Biological clocks start ticking loudly at different times.

Also I've know women who have been single teenage mothers and the fact that it's been difficult to provide for their kid makes them pull their finger out. I've also met the other kind which is why you can't make the rule you should only have children if you can afford it.

Actually I was implying she's really a bloke.

Anyway, money is only one factor in bringing up kids. Plenty of poor parents who do a great job, and equally plenty of rich ones who screw up royally.

Sad reflection on our society that some people think fitness for parenthood should be determined by how much money you have.

The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race. They have greatly increased the life-expectancy of those of us who live in "advanced" countries, but they have destabilized society, have made life unfulfilling, have subjected human beings to indignities, have led to widespread psychological suffering (in the Third World to physical suffering as well) and have inflicted severe damage on the natural world. The continued development of technology will worsen the situation. It will certainly subject human beings to greater indignities and inflict greater damage on the natural world, it will probably lead to greater social disruption and psychological suffering, and it may lead to increased physical suffering even in "advanced" countries.

I think it is fair to assume though, that when someone tells me what I am not they must be have those qualities themselves.

Have you been on the bevvie? You're not making sense. Claimed to be what? What qualities they meant to have?

BTW My kid is in bed, and I spend more time with her than almost every dad I know. But thanks for the comment, next time I need parenting tips I'll be sure to check in, clearly you're a natural.
