I remember staying in a hotel in the US and one night I was convinced they were making porno films in the room next door. The groans, screaming and bedhead-banging were most disconcerting

I remember that. They were 2 fit cheerleaders that started begging me to help them out so I did them a favour.

I'm often awoken by noisy snorey bastards in adjacent rooms.

I find a quick phone call wakes them up long enough for me to get back to sleep.

                You did for me, LMAA.
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

I was staying in a small place up near Halifax in the hills there and late at night the people in the next room starting going at it like rabbits. You could hear all the slap, slap, slurp, slurp, thwup, thwup noises like a good old pron movie, especially as all that was between us was a door. This went on for about 20 minutes and I wasn't too bothered as I was watching TV. What really got me was that about an hour later they had the telly turned up, some C5 thing about sex and went for it again. This time I was well pissed off, especially as I couldn't see under the gap on the door. I just lobbed a shoe at the door and it went all quiet.

This has happened to me a number of times while I'm staying in small hotels by myself and I'm starting to think its a conspiracy...

Serviced apartments is the way to go. Did the hotel thing when I first started but had the same problems as most who have replied to this post. Serviced apartments can work out the same as a good hotel and most times you can get a better rate buy paying them for a month at a time.

Around here (current gig) they are almost twice the price of a decent hotel - also the last one I did the bloke upstairs had his subwoofer set to stun so I couldn't hear anything else. Why is it only me that wants to be quiet.
