Call him out on it. If you don't have the balls to do it he will know he can walk all over you again and again. Ask to discuss the course with the individuals so that they can all raise issues with you directly so that you can improve the training process. -
I'd be more worried about this coming up in the performance review at the end of the year
doesn't look good does it

As already suggested, ask him for more details - it's the only way that you can improve.
Email the other members, saying that you've received feedback from the yank and had they decided that he would speak for the group as he has expressed some comments about how others were feeling.
And then have a nice can of Sprite while you wait for the responses.Comment
