I just got an OLPC laptop which has more hardware innovations than you can shake a stick at and is completely open source. It has wireless built in and you can put Opera on it instead of the installed browser.
Possibly for geeks and children only, but it's the future IMHO.Comment

That looks like it's made by vtech.
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.
I preferred version 1!Comment

True. Fisher-Price others have said. Not likely to be nicked is the way I look at it. Amazing piece of hardware anyway, however daft it looks.Originally posted by TonyEnglish View PostThat looks like it's made by vtech.

I'd have gone for the HP 530 T2400 with core2duo, 1gb ram, 120gb HD for another 70 quid at other etailers such as Dabs.
Talking of buying laptops, what happened to that geezer on here who set up his own internet shop (Ram something or other) a few years ago. Did it go tits up?Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it

The ones with tits up are the only kind of sites that make money. From what I've heard.Originally posted by PAH View PostTalking of buying laptops, what happened to that geezer on here who set up his own internet shop (Ram something or other) a few years ago. Did it go tits up?Comment

personally i didn't have a problem buying mine. I used the webforms and they then called me. Then just emailed and always a quick response.Originally posted by s2budd View PostDell laptops might be very high spec for the price but the call centre is a complete nightmare. stear well clear. You might be lucky and have no problems but beware if anything goes wrong.
Got the 3 year international support thrown in for free
Had to phone the support line once and got through to an Irish call center who then called me straight back when i told them I was abroad and the call was costing a fair bit.
I've used dell a lot over the past 5 years and I really can't see where they get the bad reputation from. Always had first class service from them.Coffee's for closersComment
