No, not at all. 2GB ram and it's as good as gold. I was intending to put XP on it when I got it, but it runs really well with Vista.

Has more than enough horsepower for most people. It's as good as my dual core 64 bit lappy for work, surfin and everyday tasks.

Runs cool and has great battery life. I've learnt that high spec isn't always the order of the day.

You're right about the price, it was £400 something at one point, then high threes, then it was discounted. They had about 100 when I bought mine and they'd sold the lot within about 3 days.

I think it's a great laptop, I borrowed my friends HP 530 and thats very similar. I think the keyboard is much better on the 6720's. They must have used different switches to the 530 because visually the keyboards are identical. Perfect for the lazy typist (me) because you don't have to pound the keys.

personally i didn't have a problem buying mine. I used the webforms and they then called me. Then just emailed and always a quick response.
Got the 3 year international support thrown in for free
Had to phone the support line once and got through to an Irish call center who then called me straight back when i told them I was abroad and the call was costing a fair bit.

I've used dell a lot over the past 5 years and I really can't see where they get the bad reputation from. Always had first class service from them.

The ones with tits up are the only kind of sites that make money. From what I've heard.

I'd have gone for the HP 530 T2400 with core2duo, 1gb ram, 120gb HD for another 70 quid at other etailers such as Dabs.

True. Fisher-Price others have said. Not likely to be nicked is the way I look at it. Amazing piece of hardware anyway, however daft it looks.

I just got an OLPC laptop which has more hardware innovations than you can shake a stick at and is completely open source. It has wireless built in and you can put Opera on it instead of the installed browser.

Possibly for geeks and children only, but it's the future IMHO.
