What justification is needed for a pickup truck?

I worked with a guy who had a Ford F150 Lightning SVT. It could out accelerate a Boxter which is not bad considering the size of the thing. It's 5.4 V8 supercharged lump would be just a little too expensive to run over here though.

And not great at build quality.... shocking is not the word.

I went to look at a couple of Lightnings and yes they look great on the outside but the build quality was woeful. it looked like they threw the interior in the cab from a distance that and 12 MPG on a good day.

whilst in the USA a few years back I went into a dealers who had a number on the forecourt. Salesman came out and we had a chat I was looking at one F150 Lightning in particular.... "Oh thats the owners truck sir it's been tricked out to 600BHP!!!, I'll get the keys and let you hear it" I'm surprised you never heard it turn over in the UK!!
