Who said anything about hunting for enjoyment.

    I shoot the following:

    Squirrels
    Rabbits
    Rats
    Pigeons

because they all do damage to my vegetable patch - which I use to feed my family.

This sounds like enjoyment to me. Frankly you are enjoying yourself telling publicly to me that you kill animals that I like very much. That's low in itself - if you hunt things, then keep it to yourself, and frankly try to hunt something of your own size - maybe that will teach you (if you survive by squeeking loudly for help when the bear gets you) not to kill creatures without grave necessity.

Frankly you probably breaking the law with your hunting as well - if you just wound squirrel it will die later in pain from blood poisoning, or suffer when trying to lead a life after being hit, ffs, only scumbag would do such a thing to a small fluffy animal that does not threaten you.

That's why I declare you are a piece of **** and I ignore you from now on - I just hope I won't come across with you in real life.

Ok - so the squeak when hit thing was tongue in cheek (although true - so do rabbits)

I don't necessarily enjoy it or not. I was brought up in the country where shooting is the norm, it's just a fact of my life.

I have told you the reasons I shoot - I am unlikely to go hunting Bears!!

I also fish - do you have an opinion on that?

Yes indeed - but that's why I am explaining my reasons.

I don't expect everyone to agree.

I agree with ATW, blood sports is a vile and disgusting and uncivilised pasttime. Anyone who does them is subnormal, has no right to be called a member of the human race and, if male, should have their balls cut off without anaesthetic. I'm not joking either!

I don't disagree with killing animals, like some - I'm not veggie - but only when:

                  (a) it's for food and the animal has led a good, healthy life in its natural surroundings or enclosed where no suffering is involved. Free range, in other words.
                  (b) it's killed humanely and quickly causing minimal distress and no pain to the animal.

If I had my way I'd ban all zoos that weren't properly maintained to take into account animals' natural instincts and surroundings.

I'd certainly ban all types of animal entertainments - dancing monkeys, bears, elephant football etc.

                  No circuses using performing animals.

No animal experimentation where there are other viable substitutes, synthetic alternatives. Even if experiments are required, it must be demonstated that

                  (a) the animal is in no pain
                  (b) the animals used is relevant to human risks

                  This doesn't happen.

To some people out there, this doesn't go nearly far enough. Some militant groups would be happy to blow up labs, scientists and anyone else cruel to animals to just happens to kiss their baseball bat on a dark night after attending am illegal dog fight. To be honest, I'd happily lend them the bat but I'm not an extremist, but even these groups would hardly call me a animal freedom fighter.

Instead, I support Animals Asia - the organisation that is out to stop moon bears being used for bile extraction and dogs and cats being used for human consumption. That's my chosen charity and I'm proud to support it.

Ah yes city slickers no doubt, the type that got rid of fox hunting....

Bloody stupid idea. Cost lots of jobs in the countryside, means farmers have more foxes to deal with and is something that almost everybody who grew up in the country has accepted for donkeys of years.

I hate it when you bloody city folk start sticking your nose in the country where it's not wanted!!

Blah blah what a hypocrite - if you had principles you'd be a vegetarian.
But you're happy for abattoir workers to do your killing for you.
I've been to one, believe me it's not nice, it may be quick but who's to say it's humane? The animals generally can smell the blood and know they're about to be killed, judging by the noise they make.
                      Hard Brexit now!
