    Don't know if its a built into the TV thing but the TV here in the canteen has teletext style subtitles on all the time. The main problem is that they look like they were typed by a 5 year old.

    Have they really done away with the people that type them real time (this is BBC News 24) and gone with speech recognition.

      I think they are still being done real time but just by five year olds who have been hit with the stupid stick

        Over in the USA, when you're in bars, hotels, airports, etc and the TV's are showing news channels they all have these subtitles as normally the sound is turned off and sometimes its a real bugger trying to work out what the story is about.
        Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.
