The Times Online says £5mOriginally posted by Denny View PostLeslie Ash wins ‘£500,000’ in hospital superbug settlement
Taken from today's Times Online. She only sued for £1m so she couldn't be awarded more than that and she got half what she sued for.
It's Deja-vu all over again!

And what would your verdict have been Judge Jones?Originally posted by Dow Jones View PostNo justice in this country. But we all know that anyway.Comment

Thanks for asking
I am not a judge, but I've been to court a couple of times as a witness to defend friends and know that money can buy you a nice barrister who will argue your case with a judge for as long as it takes. I won't go as far as saying that judges and barristers are on first name terms. I won't even dream of saying that occasionally this may result in a handsome 'thank-you present' from the barrister, as this wouldn't be very British, so I repeat this is a lie.Comment

Just answer the question please counsellor. What would your verdict have been as you stated the one given was ridiculous and not just?Comment
